Once fully operational, Brightline will make train travel to Miami a fast, convenient and relaxing option for commuters, vacationers and others.

Miami’s New Train Station

It’s a bright, new future for Miami’s downtown area. MiamiCentral will welcome visitors and anchor the iconic area and its defining landmark–the Miami skyline. It will also:

  • Connect with existing public transit systems, accessible through the new terminal
  • Get quick and easy access to renowned beaches, world-class sporting events, outdoor and water recreation, nature and wildlife tours, shopping, museums and more.
  • Enhance the attractiveness and accessibility of existing employment centers
  • Facilitate improved access to cultural and entertainment destinations in and around downtown Miami
  • Stimulate new retail, commercial, and residential demand that will be fulfilled at and around this site as the area around us completes its development

MiamiCentral station will be located at NW 1st Ave between NW 3rd Street and NW 8th Street. There will also be a 2-acre multi-use gateway complex, 3 MiamiCentral, in Historic Overtown at the corner of NW 2nd Avenue and NW 6th Street to include mixed-use development with retail, commercial and parking.

Construction of stations in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach is also underway. Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) designed each of the new South Florida stations in association with Zyscovich Architects. The Orlando station will open as part of a new Inter-modal Transportation Center planned for Orlando International Airport. Once complete, this new rail system and series of stations will provide an advanced travel experience that transports passengers more comfortably and more quickly than other options.

A Modern Travel Experience

Brightline was created with passengers in mind. The Siemens train-sets feature ergonomic seating, Wi-Fi and level boarding. This ensures that passengers can find a train that meets their own schedule. It also ensures that passengers who use Brightline to commute for work can choose arrival and departure times that provide flexibility to their schedules.

Service Begins in 2017

Service in Miami will be first to launch, with trips to Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach beginning in 2017. Full-service between Miami and Orlando will follow. Prior to the launch of service, All Aboard Florida is making significant improvements to the Florida East Coast Railway corridor, which it will use between Miami and Cocoa. All Aboard Florida is also constructing new track that will run parallel to State Road 528 between Cocoa and Orlando.
